What our Service Provides
Our service aims to make the supply of nursery temps simple and stress-free. We provide bank staff on a daily, weekly and long-term basis. Our pool of qualified staff is always on call for late replacements.
We take care of:
Vetting all staff
All agency workers supplied will have a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check issued within 3 months at the point they started with us and/or will be registered on the update service.

The Paperwork
We gather and review all we need to ensure we provide the best possible bank staff for your nursery. This includes (besides the DBS check) a photo ID, proof of address, qualification certificates (in childcare or early years), plus two satisfactory personal references.
The Interview
All candidates are interviewed at length to make sure that their maturity and manner are ideal for working with young children.
Staff Manual
Each of our staff receives a comprehensive ‘Temp Nursery Staff Manual.’ This covers what is expected from them and how to convey themselves appropriately.
The first requirements noted in this manual are a) the safeguarding of children in their care at all times and b) to always adhere to safe working practices.
We set great store with ‘first impressions’. Each worker is expected to be prompt for their shift, be dressed appropriately and be polite, helpful and adaptable.
Other matters covered in the manual include communication with the nursery if they are delayed for some reason beyond their control and confidentiality. Temp staff know that posting on social media, anything they have learned during their work is strictly forbidden.

Ideal Requirements We Look for:
- Availability; 3 or more full days per week, between 8 am and 6 pm
- Be willing to travel up to an hour
- Have experience working with the early years (0-5y) age group
Qualifications we Look for:
The minimum of an L2/L3 qualification in childcare.
The Benefits We Offer for Nursery Temps:
- Very competitive rates, starting at £10 per hour
- We work with the temp’s availability, every week
- We pay all our temps every week
The Role of Temp Staff
We know that all nurseries are not the same. We look for candidates who are adaptable and willing to ‘muck in.’ We give each worker an idea of what the role will involve and stress the need to take on what the particular nursery requires.
We stress the legal obligation nurseries must adhere to regarding the proportion of staff to children and the importance of attending the shifts the temp has committed to.
The role of bank staff is to cover for or supplement permanent or part-time staff. Bank staff cover for sickness, absence, holidays and periods of temporary fluctuation in child numbers. Bank staff have to understand and apply the nursery’s policies and procedures like a permanent employee.
