Purple Dove is an established nanny agency serving Islington and throughout London. We provide trusted and highly vetted nannies for your family.
We are familiar with the geography of Islington and many of the localised areas in EC1R and EC1V up to N1 and N5. Places where it can sometimes be a struggle to find nannies.
Our nanny service is aimed at building transparent relationships between our candidates and you as an employer. Live-in nannies, live-out, part time and night nannies can all be provided and we envisage them becoming an invaluable resource for you maintaining a healthy life/work balance.
All of our nannies will have a DBS (formally CRB) certificate issued within the last 12 months. We interview all our candidates in detail by ourselves. Our prospective nannies will also have to supply references (which we verify). We aim to provide the last 2 employment references or the last 5 years, whichever is longer.
There are many forms of nanny training and qualifications, which can be a mite confusing. Please ask if you would like further details.
Nanny roles can take many forms and we can work with you to create the role that suits your family best.
For example, the position you need could be any combination of the following:
A full-time nanny would be responsible for feeding, cooking, changing and being actively involved in the child’s physical, emotional and mental development.
This is a hybrid role that in addition to the above nanny role will also take care of non-childcare specific duties such as cooking, cleaning and laundry for the entire family.
Live-in nannies, of course, live in the client’s home, or in alternative accommodation that is provided and paid for by the client. If possible, a nanny and family should have their own separate ‘personal space’.
With such a role a nanny would be commuting, so where they live and how long their journey is will be an important factor. But this is an ideal arrangement for families and nannies who require privacy outside working hours.
The only downside to not living in is the potential of having to make last minute arrangements for childcare which means the position is less flexible. Communication and future thinking are important when hiring a live-out nanny.
A shared nanny is a situation where two families engage the services of a single nanny to care for their children. A fine line has to be trod if the two families have different philosophies about child-rearing such as screen time and homework for example. The upside is the children do have a readymade playmate.
Part-time roles come in many forms, it may be a weekend nanny position or during the working week and can even be a pick up from school, cook and mind until a parent is home.
Plenty of choices and we’ll help you decide on what would work best for your situation.
A nanny is not required to register with Ofsted, this is currently voluntary but allows parents to get help with childcare costs. It costs £103 to register and this is an annual fee. In order to be Ofsted registered, your nanny has to have the following;
As the Nanny’s employer, you will be responsible for payment of their tax and national insurance contributions on top of the net amount your Nanny takes home. In order to make this process as smooth and clear as possible, we have teamed up with a leading payroll company.
We are also members of The Association of Nanny Agencies (ANA).
Our director Shama Jaswal takes a personal interest in all our clients and candidates. You can read more about the team on our About page.
